Keynote Speaker

Dr. Ali Rezai is Executive Chair of the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and a renowned functional neurosurgeon. He specializes in neuromodulation for movement disorders, chronic pain, and neurobehavioral conditions, holding over 60 U.S. patents. With more than 200 scientific publications and over 50 neurosurgical fellows trained, he has delivered 500 global lectures. A past president of major neurosurgical societies, he has received numerous awards, including the prestigious NANS Lifetime Achievement Award. His groundbreaking research in neuromodulation for Parkinson’s, Spinal Cord Injury, Addiction, and Alzheimer’s has been featured in top media outlets, including CNN, The Washington Post, and 60 Minutes.

Chronic Pain: A Journey of Hope and Healing

Julia Rodes, a proud graduate of the MUSC College of Medicine, has  overcome the life-altering challenge of paralysis and chronic pain resulting from a serious motorcycle accident. In her journey, she found  inspiration in the work of Dr. John Lin, motivating her to redefine what capability truly means. Dr. Rodes passionately devotes her efforts to support veterans and others who are navigating their own significant life challenges with remarkable resilience and purpose.

Surviving Traumatic Brain Injury and Inspiring Action

Kelsey Geiger, a determined traumatic brain injury survivor who experienced the life-changing effects of a hit-and-run accident, has transformed her challenging experience into a deeply impactful and powerful mission. Driven by her own journey, she passionately advocates for others who share similar stories of adversity, while also raising critical awareness about the themes of resilience, recovery, and the essential support needed for those affected by traumatic brain injuries.
